The project was presented on the Equinox Architects website, accompanied by the following text.
The Equinox project is a small-scale yet complex family house located in Szigetmonostor, a village on Szentendre Island near Budapest. The design responds to the needs of a large family by organizing everyday life around a generous, multifunctional living space that combines the living room, kitchen, and a directly connected terrace, allowing flexible use throughout most of the year. More private areas, such as the bedrooms, are arranged as calm and secluded spaces. The project also serves as an experimental case study for the development of the Equinox-System™ prefabricated construction method, combining the efficiency of a timber-frame structure with traditional wooden building techniques. Sustainability is an integral part of the concept, expressed through orientation, material choices, and energy-conscious operation.
